Hot dog cookout

Hello everyone! I've been slacking with the emails lately sorry!  So, this week I hit my one year mark!  Kind of crazy to think about but I'm so grateful for this year.  I've learned so much out here and I wouldn't trade the experiences I've had for anything.

This week was pretty fun!  We had a party/eating appointment on Tuesday and it was wild hahha. We had some crazy turn of events. We got there and the owner of the house thought that he had corona so he stayed inside the whole time.  We only have one hour at appointments for the time being and when we were there for the first 30 minutes the branch sat and chilled hahah. Then they asked us to cook up the hot dogs and dinner and by the time we were done we had to leave! Then we found out that we had to sing because it was a Danish holiday that day and it sounded pretty bad hahaha.  Overall a funny night.

Remember that God is with us all the time.  He is always reaching out to us and wants to bless us.  Reach out to him this week :) I love you all!

Bornholm Field trip!

Hey everyone! Sorry I missed last week.  It’s been another good week here in Denmark.  We got to visit an island called Bornholm and the members there, it was pretty cool!!  The island is fairly small but so pretty!  Our ferry left at 12:00midnight so it made for a late night.  We drove our car onto the ferry then made it up to our cuddy and zonked off.  It was a 6 hour boat ride so we set our alarm for 5:30am to make sure we’d be up in time.  So the alarm went off and of course we hit snooze and the next thing we know, we are woken up to a loud announcement telling us that we needed to be ready to get off the boat in a matter of minutes.  It was a mad dash to say the least but we made it.  Ha ha!  Since we got to the island so early we were able to go straight to a really cool castle and walk around before we headed to the apartment.  The apartment was disgusting!  Because of the whole Corona quarantine stuff, the elders left the apartment in a big hurry 3 months ago and left some fruit, bread and other food out on the counter.  It smelled so bad!!  Everything was moldy and so gross!  So we spent a good part of the morning cleaning, it took forever but we left it in much better shape. Ha ha!

While we were on the island, we walked into a shop and this guy saw it was the missionaries so he showed us a bunch of airsoft guns and gave us a hat!  Way funny but it was awesome too!  We were able to meet with a few members and give them a quick message so that was fun to meet them.  It was a quick day and a half trip but so much fun too!

We have been doing a lot of facebook finding lately and even though the mission can be tough sometimes, I'm fighting and loving it!

Remember what Christ has done for us, remember the goodness of God and pray for those in need especially in these crazy times in the world and in the US.  I love you all! Stay safe.

Am I not motivation enough?

This week was awesome!  We had district council with President and Sister Olsen and it was so fun!  I gave a training on motivation through our faith in Christ.  It went awesome!  I shared an experience I had a couple of months ago where I was praying for motivation and I heard a voice as clear as day say "Am I not motivation enough?" It hit me like a ton of bricks.  After I told the story in district council, it was dead quiet and President Olsen said that as I was telling the story, he looked out the window and could have sworn he saw Jesus with little children around him and how they all loved him and worshipped him.  So that was cool!!

President Olsen asked Elder Ngatikaura and myself to go over to Bornholm for a few days to touch base with the members there and to do some contacting.  I’m super excited about it!  Bornholm is a little Danish island just below Sweden so we’re headed out on a 6 hour ferry ride at midnight on Tuesday.  I’ll let you all know how it went next week!

Have a great week everyone!!  Love you all and keep on keeping on.

To all the moms!

Hello everyone! Sorry I skipped last week but I'll make it up with this week.  This has been a fantastic week and a lot of fun.

We had lessons with a number of members and a couple of non member friends.  We taught about faith as a general topic this week and it was awesome.  It's only after our faith gets tested that we grow our faith and we come closer to God in our lives.

This week Elder Ngatikaura and I were playing basketball and for some reason we were off.  Really off.  We couldn't make a shot and we were laughing our guts off at everything!!  I'm really starting to get rusty out here with basketball but it's all good hahah!!

In honor of Mother's Day last Sunday, I wanted to say how grateful I am for my mom and the example she has always been to me.  I read in Moroni 7:47 about charity and I think it sums up my mom perfectly.  She is one of the most charitable and loving people I know.  I'm grateful for all my grandmothers, my mom, and all the other awesome "moms" in my life!

I love you all have a great week and stay safe!!  Try to grow spiritually every day this week :)

PS: I have to give a shout out to my little bro (Nick) who got his mission call to Melbourne Australia, Chinese speaking. So cool!  I'm excited for him to join me in the mission field in August!!

Let the light in!

Hey y'all!!  This week was a good one.  Just living the missionary life.  It's awesome to see that the Lord is still pushing the work forward through technology and through many different people.  We worked hard this week but also had fun.  We had our first district meeting in person and it's always good to see other missionaries!  We've also been able to teach about 10 member lessons online which is great because I haven't had a chance to meet most of the branch members because we don't go to church so I'm lovin' that!  Elder Ogden and Elder Rosenkilde moved out so it's just me and my homie Elder Ngatikaura.  Back to a normal 2 man companionship.

We had a devotional over Zoom last night with John Bytheway and it was awesome!  We talked about how we need to focus on our strengths and the things that matter.  He made an analogy of how the moon is 64 million times smaller than the sun and yet it can still block out the sun in a solar eclipse because of the distance it is at.  The moon is related to the questions and doubts we have and if we focus on them too much then it eventually blocks the light out.

Let the light in folks and focus on the good things in life like, Jesus Christ and his restored gospel, truths and happiness.

I love you all!!  Have a great week and keep fighting on!

Danish movie star!

Hey guys!!  This week was really good!  We had a couple member lessons through video chat which was fun and the three of us have been having a good time.  One of the highlights of my week was that I was able to do a baptism interview with a nice Danish lady.  She is good friends with a Danish actor by the name of Tomas Kofod.  Tomas sat in for the interview too.  He's a really cool guy!  He played Jesus Christ in a number of LDS movies and was also in 17 Miracles.  Pretty much a Danish movie star!  ha ha.

Today we got a new Danish Elder to make us a four man named Elder Rosenkilde.  He's a way cool guy and I'm excited for him to be here with us!  He was serving in Brazil but was sent back to Denmark because of Covid-19.  It'll be good for the rest of us to improve our Danish more and more by living with an actual Dane!

We've been playing a lot of sports this week to workout which has been great even though we are all just a little rusty and stumbling all over ourselves. ha ha!  For our weekly adventure, we went to the coast where there are these really cool white cliffs in an area called Møns Klint. It was awesome and so pretty!!

The message that I want to leave with you guys this week is that The power of prayer is real.  I have found that out on my mission and I promise that if you reach out to God to get help with anything, he will help you.  Remember to put a smile on your face, have a good attitude and a hope that things will get better in the world!!  Keep praying, hoping and having fun!!

Love you all and have a great week :)
