Aarhus and Hjørring fun

Hey guys!! This week was a little bit of a weird week but still a good one.

Tuesday and Wednesday we were in Aarhus for splits. It was good to go down there, get some work in and have a good time.  On Thursday and Friday we drove out to Hjørring (another city in my area) and visited some less active members and tried to find new people to teach.  We had some good conversations with a few people and talked to some members so that was good!  Then the rest of the week was pretty much just regular missionary work days.

Today we were out on the street trying to find and this lady who was wayyyy drunk came up to me and started speaking Norwegian.  I could understand her a little bit because Danish and Norwegian are similar languages but she asked me where a bar was and then asked if we wanted to come with her hahah!!  We saw her 20 minutes later and somehow she was wearing different clothes and told us that she lost her passport.  Rough day for that lady.

My spiritual thought this week is about the Sacrament.  I think sometimes we take for granted how big of a deal it is!  We have the opportunity to renew our Covenants each week and be forgiven!  Next time you take the sacrament say a prayer of gratitude to God for sending his Son to us :)

I love you all!!

Rubjerg Knude fun!

Hey everyone!! Hope this week was a good one for everyone!! This week was super fun for me 🙂

Our friend Karsten had to move his appointment to this week on Thursday so we are excited to meet with him and teach him the gospel!

This week we went to Rubjerg Knude which is a lighthouse on this giant sand dune on the western coast of Denmark!! It was so fun and so crazy!!  We went and stood by the edge of this cliff and the wind was so crazy that we could lean back and the wind would push us back up!  Then we decided to go jump off some sand cliffs and it was so fun hahah even tho there was sand everywhere...

On Saturday we had a mission wide challenge to give out two Book of Mormons for each companionship to honor President Nielsens challenge for this conference.  We had 2 awesome miracles.  We found a guy named Eric who was on his way to a funeral when we stopped by and he said he believed in Christ.  He didn't seem very interested but I decided to go for it and offer him a copy of the Book of Mormon and he was so happy to get it!!  The other miracle was that we were walking on the street in the last hours before we had to go home and we found a recent investigator.  His name is Roger and he was reading in the Book of Mormon but when he moved he lost it so we gladly gave him another.

I'm so grateful for this gospel and the miracles, joy and peace that comes from living it.  My mission has changed my life in a lot of ways forever and I'm so grateful for it!  I challenge all of you guys to read in 3 Nephi 17 this week and think about the love Christ and God have for you as their children:)

Love you all!  I love hearing from you all!!

We found a fella!

Howdy!!  This week was good!  I hope everyone is doing good!

So this week we had a pretty busy schedule!  We had splits with the AP's, splits with the district leaders and our normal work too!!  It was super fun!!

We had a miracle that happened this week...we found a new guy to teach!  His name is Karsten.  He is such a cool guy!  We met him on the street and he asked us a bunch of questions and was super curious.  He even wrote a paper about Mormons when he was in school so he knew some stuff about us.  He is an Adventist and a believer in Christ so it will be good.  We meet with him tomorrow at our church.  I'm so excited!

A little story real quick hahah (pics included)
My companion is the nicest kid but he definitely is not the most coordinated when it comes to riding bikes, as I've said before. This week we were biking to the church and I started hauling to the church and he took off after me. I got into the parking lot and I looked back just in time to see him hit a metal bar with his bike and do a flip off the bike superman style!!  I ran over to him and luckily he was fine just a little shocked, but it was probably the funniest thing I've ever seen In my life!!  I'm glad he's okay.  Elder Welch keeps things exciting 🙂

God loves you all so much and I love you all so much!!  The joy that comes from living the gospel is real and I love the gospel so much.  Read every day and pray and I PROMISE you will be happier!  Have a good week!

Isaiah 41:10

This week was a good one!! We had Zone Conference so that was fun!  I love learning from President Olsen and it was way good to see a lot of my missionary friends.

One of the highlights of my week was seeing my 16 yr old buddy, Mads Koch, from Randers. He came up to Frederikshavn branch this Sunday, with his grandpa who's the stake clerk, to see me and say hi!  I love that kid!

Something cool and (super rare) that happened was that we contacted a girl on the street who would like to learn more about God!!  What?!  She texted us first after we had introduced ourselves and we should be meeting with her this week.  We also met a guy from Poland this week and he didn't speak Danish so we told him we were from the US and he went crazy hahaha!!  He started flipping out and asking us a bunch of stuff and talking about how much he hates the Catholic Church in Poland and how it's not right to pay to be baptized (which is true) and we gave him a card and hopefully we will talk with him again soon.

We met with a member this week and she told us her conversion story.  She was Hindu and she started meeting with the missionaries and was doubting if God even knew her.  She told us that she said a prayer and asked if God knew her and if he did, the first scripture she opened up to would show it.  She opened to Isaiah 41:10 which says,  "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness."  She got emotional and so did we and then she bore her testimony about how God knows us and is aware of us. It was powerful!  I would like to bear my testimony along with this member and say that I know God loves us and knows us.  There have been countless times on my mission where I have prayed to Heavenly Father for some help or to see his love for me, and without a doubt every time I have seen it.  It might not be the way we expect it to be, but it always happens.  I love you all so much and I invite you to pray to Heavenly Father and ask him if he knows and loves you.  You will receive an answer.

I hope you all have a good week!  I love hearing from you all!!
