Aarhus to Herning!

Hey everyone! Sorry it's been a little while since I wrote. Things are going well out here!  I got moved to an area called Herning which is in the western part of the Jutland.  I was super sad to leave Aarhus and the members there.  I love Aarhus!!  Before I left, I was able to go on splits with one of my old comps, Elder Millett who just went home.  We're all starting to drop like flies out here.  I'm now with my MTC buddy Elder Cousins.  There is never a dull moment with him, it has been great!!  We've been trying to soak up Denmark and work as hard as we can for our last two months here.  We've been riding our bikes this week and it's been a blast!  Elder cousins took a big spill but popped up like a champ hahah!

As I have had time to think about my mission and now that the end is coming closer, I have realized how God has had his hand in my whole mission.  I have seen how Gods plan is always bigger and better than mine.  When I have an idea of something that would be "fun" or "cool" like an area or companion, God puts me back where He needs me to be.  It can be hard to trust in Him and trust that He knows best, but trust me, He knows best.  We have to humble ourselves and listen to Him and His plan and follow it with faith.  Serve God and be thankful for everything He has given us.

I love you all.  Have a great week!

Samsø fun!

Hey everyone!  Another good week here in Denmark.  We had splits with the my good friends Elder Madsen and Elder Moderizitski.  They are two good dudes!  It's always fun to be with them!  I am grateful for all the missionaries in my mission and how close everyone has become.  There's not a lot of us here so we're like a big family :)

We had a lesson with Oscar this week and he is very close to being baptized!  We invited him to be baptized and he said he is almost ready to take the step.  Please pray for him!  Sadly, Erki dropped his baptism date.  I think his family helped him change his mind which is sad but hopefully we've planted the seed and one day it'll happen.

Today we went to an island that's in our area called Samsø.  It was super fun to explore!  I'm gonna miss Denmark a ton!  It is a great place that has changed my life.  As I was sitting on the beach today just thinking, I had an impression that I needed to pray.  I prayed and thanked Heavenly Father for all the things he has created and for everything he has given me.  After I said the prayer my mentality changed for the rest of the day.  I now know that when I had the prompting to pray, it was like I could feel that God truly is my Father and just wanted me to talk to him.  He loves us all indescribably!  He sent his only Son to make it so we can come back to him again.  Please try everything you can to get in touch with God daily.  It will change your life!

I love you all!  Have a great week!

Goodbye my Aussie's

Hej!  This week was a little crazy, but good. We had a quick transfer in the mission, because the 2 Australian missionaries got flights home that opened up at the last minute.  I will miss Elder Ngatikaura and Elder Appleby a ton!  They were two great comps and are now friends for life.

We are teaching two friends right now who are progressing towards baptism.  The first one is a 17 year old named Oscar.  He is such a cool kid!  He has read the Book of Mormon, which is huge, so we're helping him learn more and more.  The other is Erki.  He is a diplomat from Estonia and has also just finished the Book of Mormon.  He says he wants to be baptized!  If everyone at home will pray for them, that would be much appreciated!

Remember that God works through miracles everyday and a lot of times those miracles come from us to others.

I hope you all have a great week!

Reading with a purpose

 Hey guys!

I hope everyone has had a great week!   This week was a good one for me.  We had Zone Conference which is always good to get together and we had a ton of fun in general.  It's been snowing here, which is pretty rare here so I've loved that.  We were out contacting the other day when we were stopped by a city worker who gave us two sleds because they were gonna get thrown away so we put them to use by surfing down the hills in the snow...it was a super good time haha!  It's good to find the joy in every day.  It has been fun being the only American in an apartment with 3 other Europeans.  I definitely have gotten to know more about their cultures!

This week a member gave a talk about reading the scriptures.  He talked about the difference between reading the scriptures just because we have to or reading them for a purpose.  We miss out on the opportunities and blessings that come from reading the scriptures with full intent of heart.  He said we always get the most out of the scriptures when we are focusing on coming towards God, being forgiven, finding an answer, or for any problems we might face.  Study the scriptures daily with full intent of heart and keep working on coming to Christ.

Have a great week!  Jesus loves you all and so do I!

Two Danes, a German and me

Hey everyone!  So this week I got a new companion.  He's a native Dane & a really nice guy.  We have another set of elders living with us in the same apartment and it's been super fun just a little tight 😂  I'm the only American in our place.  Two Danes, one German and me!

I hit my 4 month countdown mark today which is crazy!  I've come to love and appreciate Denmark & my mission so much.  I have learned some of the most important life lessons but the biggest blessing is that I've come closer to God!  This week I was thinking a lot about being thankful.  How often is it that we pray to God and ask for help and then when we receive it, we forget to give thanks?  It is super important to take in the small things every day and be thankful for everything God has given us.  He has given us this awesome Earth, our families, friends, hobbies etc. but most important he has given us the Atonement and the gospel of Jesus Christ.  Without Him we wouldn't have anything!!  I love this church and I love Jesus Christ!  I testify that He is God's son.  I love you all!  Have a great week!

Danish snow!

Hello everyone!  Another fun week in the books.  I started the week off by going on splits with the Elders in Herning.  I was with Elder Møller.  We had a great time working and so it ended up being a successful splits day.

It snowed this week in Denmark (which is rare) and it makes winter here so much better.  We didn't get any last year hahah.  We came back from splits and had Zone Conference which was fun.  My boys, Elder Madsen and Elder Moderizitsk,i gave a great training about enjoying life, staying in the moment and reminding us how lucky we are.  It was good to reflect on that :)

Friday I went on splits with Elder Ngatikaura.  It was super good to be with him.  I always leave splits happier then when I started with him.  He's a great guy!  We had a quick nerf war, walked around Aarhus finding, and had some good convos which made for a great time.  Sunday morning we got a call from a family in our zone asking us to come move some stuff for them because they needed to move that day, so we drove to Randers and helped them.  I love being able to help and serve other people!

Missions are filled with ups and downs but through it all, I can see that the Savior is always around us.  We all make mistakes and do dumb things, but He helps us fix them and then He forgives us because of the Atonement and His love.  I testify that He is our Lord and Savior and no matter where we are in life, His hand is extended to help us up.  Here's a great scripture for all of you to read this week :)

Alma 34:8 "And now, behold, I will testify unto you of myself that these things are true. Behold, I say unto you, that I do know that Christ shall come among the children of men, to take upon Him the transgressions of His people, and that He shall Atone for the sins of the world; for the Lord God hath spoken it."  I love you all and so does Jesus!

Hav en god uge :)

Happy New Year!!

Hey everyone!  First and foremost Happy New Year!  I am very excited for 2021 and all the good things to come.

On Wednesday we had a district activity where we watched the movie Soul. It was kind of a weird movie, but it was good to be with everyone.  Also, this week I went on splits with my past companion Elder Millett!  It was good to be with him, back in the area where we served In Randers.  New Years Eve was crazy in Aarhus!  These people know how to celebrate with crazy fireworks.  Even if we were suppose to be inside at midnight, there was no way we could have been sleeping with a war zone going on.  It was awesome to watch the city erupt!  Other than that, not too much else happened because we are halfway on lockdown.  We are still looking for people to teach each day and making some progress!

My spiritual thought is about our new mission motto.  We had a conference and President Olsen introduced the motto of "Be kind and Do good".  It is super simple, but it is an important message.  We all need to love each other and serve each other in 2021. Make sure that you do something nice for someone every single day.  I love you all!  Have a great week!
